Greater Delaware County Community Foundation Chairman Jack Klaus says the McGee Barr Grants are funded with money left to the foundation by Garrett McGee to be used to help the poor of Delaware County. The Harlo Coon Grants are funded by GDCCF investments – these funds are to be used to help the elderly of Delaware County have a better life.

The Greater Delaware County Community Foundation accepts applications for these grants from non-profit organizations in October of each year and hands out the funding the following January/February. Other McGee funds are used for scholarships, grants to local schools, worthy projects, and a Discretionary Funding Program through Community Services.
