Moeller Presented IBA’s Student Athlete Achievement Award

A Starmont wrestler – and newly-crowned state champ – has been presented a prestigious honor by the Iowa Bankers Association.

Each year, the Iowa Bankers Association presents the Student Athlete Achievement Award to student-athletes who excel not only in athletics, but also academically and in their communities. Keaton Moeller, a student at Starmont High School, was presented the scholarship award at the Iowa High School Boys State Wrestling Tournament held this past week in Des Moines.

Moeller was selected by the IBA’s scholarship committee based on his scholastic standing, leadership skills, community involvement and athletic participation. He just won the Class 1A 190-pound State Wrestling title in the championship match on Saturday night.

Kristen Arthur, Senior Vice President of Operations at Community Savings Bank in Edgewood, presented Moeller with a $1,000 scholarship to the college of his choice. “On behalf of the Iowa Bankers Association and Community Savings Bank, I’m pleased to present Keaton with this much-deserved award. Iowa bankers are proud to support education and students of Keaton’s caliber,” Arthur said.

For three decades, the IBA has sponsored the Student Athlete Achievement Award program, which has grown to honor student-athletes in football, basketball and wrestling. The IBA has awarded more than $365,000 in scholarships since the program began.
