West Delaware Parent Teacher Conferences Featuring ‘Hidden In Plain Sight’ Display

This week’s Parent Teacher Conferences at West Delaware are bringing a new experience to families.

Parents and guardians are being invited to take part in an important interactive display focused on student safety and awareness. Megan Drake is a Prevention Specialist with the Healthy Delaware County Coalition.

The Coalition is calling it the Hidden In Plain Sight display. In the Middle School commons, they’ll be setting up a mock teenager’s bedroom with items that may appear ordinary, but could be connected to risky behaviors. Parents and guardians are encouraged to walk through the mock bedroom setup and learn how everyday objects can sometimes hide drug-related items and paraphernalia.

Manchester Police Chief Ben Davis will be on hand to help answer questions too. Drake says this will be a great opportunity to get a conversation started between parents and kids.

West Delaware Middle School Principal Jacqueline Lahey encourages Lambert and West Delaware High School parents to stop by the Hidden In Plain Sight display too.

The Hidden In Plain Sight display will be available in the West Delaware Middle School commons area during Parent Teacher Conferences today Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 6:30 pm.
