Non-Profits Encouraged to Apply for Foundation for the Future of Delaware County Grants

The Foundation for the Future of Delaware County is inviting non-profits to apply for grants, with the deadline coming up next week.
Over the past twenty years, the Foundation has awarded over one million dollars in grants to local non-profits and government agencies who are working to help and improve our communities.
Foundation board member Julie Frick says during her first year on the board, she sat on a sub-committee that looked at all the grant applications that came in.
Last year, the Foundation for the Future handed out nearly $110,000 in grants to groups from one side of Delaware County to the other.
Amanda Diers, Executive Director of the Foundation, says 501(c)(3)s are eligible to apply – or you can partner with a 501(c)(3) or government agency.
Diers says if you’re interested in applying, she encourages you to start now instead of waiting until next week’s deadline.
And the Foundation is always willing to help with the application process. Diers says they’ll be offering a virtual training this Wednesday.
The grant application period, which kicked off February 1st, will be closing next Wednesday, March 11th. Applications are available at dbqfoundation.org/FFDC.
The Foundation prioritizes projects and programs focusing on new, innovative ideas. The Foundation welcomes proposals for projects that benefit a broad spectrum of the community or a chronically underserved segment of the population in the areas of health and human services; education; neighborhoods and community development; environment; children, youth and families; and arts and culture, including historic preservation.
Non-profits in Delaware County can apply for grants for projects or programs that:
- Address significant community issues.
- Present innovative, creative and practical proposals that build on community strengths.
- Present clear work plans that show the ability to achieve the project’s goal.
- Focus on strategic innovations that encourage cooperation, create efficiencies and reduce duplication of services.
- Develop the leadership potential of the community.
- Involve the people served in the planning and implementation of the program.
- Demonstrate quality, vision, effectiveness, collaboration and good management.
- Provide a plan for sustainability beyond the funding period.
If you have any questions about applying for a grant through the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County, call Amanda at 563-880-3816.
