Severe Weather Threat Tuesday Afternoon into Evening

Strong to severe storms are possible later this afternoon into tonight.

The National Weather Service says slight adjustments have been made to the severe storm outlook, expanding the Level 1 (out of 5) Marginal Risk north into nearly all of the KMCH listening area, including Delaware, Dubuque, Jones, Linn and Buchanan counties, as well as a majority of Clayton County and the southeast corner of Fayette County.

The Level 3 (out of 5) Enhanced Risk has also expanded northward to just south of the Quad Cities.

Damaging winds and hail are possible, though it looks the greatest threat for both – as well as greatest threat for tornadoes and flash flooding – will stay to our south.

Stay with KMCH – we’ll let you know of any watches and warnings and break in with live coverage if severe storms develop.

Today’s cold front will bring in cooler weather for the rest of the week – with highs only in the 40s – with chances of rain and snow on Wednesday and Sunday.
