Delaware County Recorder Retiring at End of Year

Delaware County’s Recorder will be retiring at the end of the year.

Daneen Schindler announced earlier this year that she would not seek re-election in 2026. She has served in the Delaware County Recorder’s Office for just over thirty years.

A county recorder’s office wears many different hats, which means Schindler and her staff stay busy filling numerous needs for Delaware County residents.

If you step into the Delaware County Recorder’s Office, you’ll find a room lined with rows of dozens upon dozens of books filled with historic records dating back to the county’s earliest days in the 1800’s. Schindler says digitizing those documents – a tedious task that has taken years – is what she’s most proud of when she looks back over her time as county recorder.

This year will mark eleven years as Delaware County Recorder and Schindler feels it’s time to move on at the end of her term.

She says she’s thankful for the many people who have supported her over the years.

Schindler’s official last day as Delaware County Recorder will be December 31st.
