Delaware County Emergency Management on Severe Weather Awareness Week

This is Severe Weather Awareness Week.
Mandy Bieber serves as the coordinator for Delaware County Emergency Management. She says there are some improvements being made to storm forecasts.
Bieber says even with all the latest weather forecasting technology, storm spotters – serving as eyes on the ground – are still important.
Now is the time to prepare for severe weather season – though recent years have proved that tornadoes, flooding and storms can happen anytime of the year.
You may have heard the outdoor warning sirens going off in your community on Wednesday morning around 10 am – that was part of this week’s statewide tornado drill.
