KMCH SPORTS: West Delaware girls and boys Track & Field teams win early bird meet

The annual West Delaware early bird co-ed meet was held in Manchester last night. It was successful for both of the home squads with several high finishes propelling them to take first in both divisions. The Hawk girls claimed first with 158 points, 2nd was Ed-Co with 106, Maquoketa Valley 4th with 70, Independence 6th with 52.

The WD boys finished tied with Oelwein with 116 points, Maquoketa Valley was 3rd with 84, Independence 4th with 79, Central City 7th with 24 and Ed-Co 8th with 22.

At the Tipton early bird co-ed meet, on the girls side- Northeast was 1st with 104 points, 5th was Monticello with 73, Cascade 9th with 36, Beckman Catholic 10th with 35. The boys division was won by Clear Creek-Amana with 150 points, Beckman Catholic 4th with 61, Cascade 6th with 50.5.

Vinton-Shellsburg hosted a boys early bird with Benton Community taking the trophy with 112 points, North Linn was 9th with 19 points.
