Authorities have released the name of the driver killed in a collision in Jones County on Monday.
The crash happened shortly before 1:30 pm at the intersection of Highway 151 and Highway 1. The Iowa State Patrol says a car was northbound when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the median on Highway 151 at Highway 1. The car was struck broadside by a pickup truck, which was southbound on Highway 151.
The driver of the car, 35-year old Ayla Shay McFarland of Mount Vernon, died at the scene. The truck driver, 66-year old Michael Duncomb of Anamosa, was injured.
No further details have been released.
