The Archdiocese of Dubuque will be announcing its new parish groupings (pastorates) and priest assignments on Saturday morning.
The announcement is part of the ongoing Journey in Faith initiative. The process has included review of sacramental, financial and demographic data for every parish, along with feedback gathered through surveys, listening sessions, focus groups and individual meetings.
The Archdiocese reminds everyone:
- Parishes are not closing.
- Church buildings are not closing.
- Church names will remain the same.
- Pastorates are not mergers.
A Letter to the Faithful, specific to each parish, will be posted online at dbqjourneyinfaith.org and sent to each pastor to share with his parishioners this weekend.
The changes will take effect in July.
