Frasher Named Dyersville Chamber ‘Woman of the Year’

The Dyersville Area Chamber of Commerce has named their “Woman of the Year”.

Darlene Frasher won the honor at Wednesday night’s Woman’s Night Out event.

More than three hundred women from across the area gathered at the Total Fitness Rec Center in Dyersville for an evening of food, vendors and companionship – and to hear from guest speaker Elizabeth Mary.

The Woman of the Year honor is the culmination of the event. Frasher was nominated for her impact on the lives of local veterans through her work with Benefit the Vets, a non-profit established by her family in 2018 which hosts a fundraiser concert each summer in Worthington. Her nomination letter reads: “Through these efforts, Darlene has helped raise over $150,000 to support local veterans organizations. The impact is far-reaching—funding Honor Flights for more than 65 veterans, supporting PTSD service dogs, and assisting with home modifications such as wheelchair ramps and accessible bathrooms. Her work also includes providing essential supplies to veteran organizations, offering emergency assistance with utilities, and helping coordinate transportation for medical appointments. Through countless volunteer hours, Darlene has helped create meaningful, lasting support for veterans in the community.”

Congratulations to Darlene and to the six other nominees, including Helen Fortmann, Elizabeth Marner, Tricia Maiers, Sarah Goldsmith, Heather Clasen and Monique Butcher.
