KMCH SPORTS: Maquoketa Valley Boys Golf wins TRC West Division Tournament

BOYS GOLF-

The Woods Edge Golf course in Edgewood was the site of the Tri-Rivers Conference Boys West Division Tournament yesterday. Maquoketa Valley earned champions status with a 321, East Buchanan was runner-up with a 343, Starmont 3rd with a 345, North Linn 4th with a 355, Central City was 5th with a 369 and the host Vikings were 6th with a 390. Eli Dougherty took medalist honors for MV and his teammate Trevor Grimm was runner-up with a 79. The Wildcats Zach Leytem was 4th, East Buc’s Lane Junk 5th place and 6th was Maq. Valley’s Dalton Africa all shooting.  Jagger Timmerman was 7th with a 83, Central City’s Josh Lindsey 8th with a 84, 9th was Landry Nelson of EB with a 85 and the Stars Sawyer Schlee was 10th with a 85.

Independence hosted the WaMaC East division meet at the River Ridge Golf Club. The host mustangs took the title with a 328. West Delaware was 4th with a 339. Indee’s Dawson Fuelling was the medalist with a 75, Colson Mersch was the runner-up with a 77, the Mustangs Jacob Bonefas 3rd with a 78, Blake Mather of WD 5th with a 81.

Cascade topped Maquoketa 154-167.

Anamosa snuck past Northeast by 2 strokes, 165-167.

Beckman Catholic fell to Camanche 167-178.

GIRLS GOLF-

West Delaware welcomed the East Division squads to Pin Oak Links outside of Manchester. Solon won the crown with a 371, Independence 2nd with a 386, the Hawks were 4th with a 416.

Becklman Catholic defeated Camanche 196-210.

Monticello lost to Bellevue 204-224.

Anamosa beat Northeast 204-220.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD-

Ed-Co hosted a 12-team meet as the Vikings won the team race with 133 points, Maquoketa Valley was 2nd with 102, Cascade 4th with 62, Starmont 5th with 50, Cantral Elkader 11 with 41 and Central City 12th with 6.

At the co-ed meet in Independence, Waverly-Shell Rock was first with 149, West Delaware 2nd with 134, Indee 4th with 69.

At the Maquoketa Cardinal co-ed Relays, Western Dubuque took 2nd to Northeast 72-197.

Anamosa was 4th with 91 points at Camanche.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD-

West Delaware was 4th with 82 points at Independence, the Mustangs were 7th with 34.

Monticello was the top squad at Northeast with 154 points.

Anamosa placed 4th in Marion with 40 points and North Linn was 8th with 5.

GIRLS SOCCER-

Anamosa was shutout by Bellevue 3-0.

Monticello was blanked by Maquoketa 10-0.

BOYS SOCCER-

West Delaware lost to Marion 13-0.

Anamosa and Bellevue tied at 2.
