County Sells Dubuque County Fairgrounds to Fair Association

The Dubuque County Fairgrounds has been sold.

The Dubuque County Board of Supervisors voted on Monday to sell the fairgrounds to the Dubuque County Fair Association. General Manager John Bries says the Fair Association’s relationship with the County goes back decades. 

The fairgrounds sits along Old Highway Road on the western edge of Dubuque. The County has sold the land to the Association at a price tag of just one dollar – and Bries says there was a reason for that.

Now that the Fair Association has ownership of the fairgrounds, Bries is hoping that means they’ll be able to start doing some major renovations.

Bries says as a non-profit themselves, they’ll continue making it their mission to help other non-profits.

The Dubuque County Fair is just a couple months away – this year’s fair runs July 28th through August 2nd.
