Severe Weather Threat Returns Friday through Monday

Forecasters warn that severe weather is possible tonight for wide sections of Iowa, with hail, high winds and tornadoes possible.
Meteorologist Dylan Dodson, at the National Weather Service, says Iowans will need to stay weather aware and keep connected with the changing forecast.
Dodson says this storm system will be capable of generating all sorts of dangerous threats.
Some weather models indicate winds late today could peak around 75 miles an hour, that’s hurricane strength.
The National Weather Service says most of eastern Iowa is under a Level 3 out of 5 Enhanced Risk for tonight, including Delaware, Jones, Linn and Buchanan counties, most of Fayette County and the far western edge of Dubuque County. The timing for severe storms to develop in those areas is between 9 pm and 3 am, with damaging winds up to 70 mph, large hail and a small chance of isolated tornadoes..
The forecast calls for the possibility of more severe weather Saturday, Sunday and Monday – so the National Weather Service says you should pay close attention to the daily forecast, especially if you have outdoor weekend plans.
