Virgil Clifton Reth- Delhi

Virgil Clifton Reth, 76, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Regional Medical Center, Manchester,
Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2026, at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation
Service in Earlville. An additional visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday June 2, 2026, at the Delhi
Methodist Church in Delhi. Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Reverend Zach Rogers officiating.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Earlville is in
charge of arrangements.
Delhi, Iowa native Virgil Reth, was born on January 22, 1950, the son of Harold L. and Alberta (Cooksley) Reth. He
graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1968. On June 2, 1973, he married Joan E. Daniels at the Manchester
Methodist Church, and together they were blessed with three children.
At the age of 18, Virgil began farming and devoted his entire life to the Dairy Farm, where he raised crops and cattle.
Farming was not just his occupation, but his lifelong passion, and he never truly retired. Virgil was a member of the Delhi
Methodist Church. He cherished time spent with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Virgil will be deeply
missed by all who knew and loved him.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Joan E. Reth of Delhi; children, Angela (Patrick) Pokorney, DVM of Delhi, Sandy (Cody)
Miller of St. Charles, Iowa, Jon (Tereasa) Reth of Delhi, four grandchildren, Colby Miller, Catey Miller, Chloe Reth, Cailey
Reth; siblings and spouses, Marie (Gerald) Blumhagen of Castalia, Marlene Reth of Manchester, Wilma Parsons, Bertha
Tribuno both of Cedar Rapids, Danny (Julie) Reth of Delhi, Harold (Laura) Reth, Randy (Diane) Reth both of Hopkinton;
along with numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold L. and Alberta Reth; brothers Glenn Reth, Donald Reth; brothers-in-law,
Herb Bishop, Louie Parsons, Bob Tribuno; and his nephews, Carter Phillip Reth, and Andrew Reth.
