DelCo Ag Hosting New ‘Brunch in the Barn’ Agricultural Learning Event
A new event that aims to give people a chance to learn more about agriculture is coming up this Sunday in Manchester.
It’s called Brunch in the Barn and it’s taking place from 10 am to noon at the Delaware County Fairgrounds’ Beef Barn and Farm Bureau Show Ring. Jade Schneider says it’s a family-friendly agricultural event.
Allison Bishop says they’ll have some fun activities for the kids to interact with farm life.
And Schneider says it’s an event for adults too.
Along with breakfast and kids’ activities, there will be farmers to visit with and agricultural displays too.
Here’s a look at what you’ll find at Brunch in the Barn:
- Breakfast
- Baby farm animals – bottle calves, chicks, lambs, goats, ducklings, and horses
- Farm equipment – a tractor, skid loader, combine, and sprayer
- Soil and cover crop demos
- Pedal pull tractor fun
- Iowa Corn Mobile Education unit and a drone sprayer up close
- UTV safety and Stop the Bleed safety info
- Free giveaways
DelCo Ag is hosting Sunday’s Brunch in the Barn event. DelCo Ag is a newer partnership between the Delaware County Farm Bureau, Delaware County Cattlemen, Delaware County Pork Producers and Delaware County Dairy Promoters.
Brunch in the Barn is a free will donation event, with all proceeds supporting local food banks and pantries in Delaware County.
