Dennis Dean Porter – Manchester

Dennis Dean Porter, 64, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born on August 14, 1961, in Monticello, the son of Richard and Josephine (Hildebrand) Porter. Dennis was raised and educated in Manchester.

On October 15, 2016, Dennis was united in marriage to Julie Morse at the Methodist Church in Manchester. Dennis had a love for his kids and grandkids. He loved to go fishing, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, helping others, and coin collecting. He had a very special bond with his granddaughter, Brooklyn.

Survivors include his wife of nine years, Julie Porter of Manchester; four children, Kristina (Tyler) Ridley of Bryan, Texas, Bobbi Jo Porter of What Cheer, Krystal (Derrick) Carey of Oskaloosa, and Billy Porter of Chicago, Illinois; four stepchildren, Callie Harris of Paradise Valley, Arizona, Shanti (Alex) Schumacher of Forest City, Mariah (James) Ellison and Zachary Wefel all of Manchester;16 grandchildren; his brothers, Bill, Rick, Mark, and Jim; sisters, Wendy, Brenda, and Denise; and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Barb.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Manchester Methodist Church in Manchester, Iowa, with Rev. Phil Rogers officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa. Friends may also call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Wednesday.
