Delaware County Supervisor Carla Becker says due to the voter ID law, voters will need to bring a form of identification with them to the polls. Preferred forms would be an Iowa driver’s license, an Iowa non-operator ID or a voter PIN card – but there are other forms which can be used to prove identity. You can call the Auditor’s office at 927-4701 to get a listing.
Also, a reminder on a fairly new law – anyone who still has an absentee ballot in their possession needs to turn in their voted ballot to the Auditor’s Office by 8 pm on Election Day (at the close of the polls). If you still have your absentee ballot, but would prefer to vote at the polls, you just need to take your unvoted ballot with you and surrender it to the election officials – and then you will be able to vote an election day ballot at your polling place.
If you have any questions about voting today or the June Primary, call your Auditor’s Office.
