Man Arrested for Vehicle Burglary in Independence

A man was arrested for burglarizing a vehicle in Independence on Saturday.

Independence Police say 45-year old Christopher Adam Mirr was taken into custody for Burglary to a Motor Vehicle.

Police say on Friday, Mirr shared on social media on how he made entry to a parked motor vehicle that was not his, located the owner’s registration form and shared it over social media – stating that the vehicle was blocking his driveway “four two days.” Unbeknownst to Mirr, the owner of the vehicle had died earlier that day.

Burglary to a Motor Vehicle is an Aggravated Misdemeanor and is punishable by up to two years imprisonment.

The names of the deceased and next of kin are not being released at this time.
