Social Media Post Leads to Arrest of Independence Man on a Charge of Car Theft

Independence police say Christopher Adam Mirr was arrested Saturday for Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. In a story posted on KWWL, Independence police reported 45-year-old Mirr posted on social media Friday that he made entry to a parked motor vehicle that was not his, located the owner’s registration form, and shared it over social media. He claimed the vehicle was blocking his driveway “four two days” without realizing the owner of the vehicle had died earlier that day. Burglary to a Motor Vehicle is an Aggravated Misdemeanor, meaning Mirr could spend up to two years in prison if convicted.
