One Injured in Linn County Collision

One person was injured in a collision west of Central City on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly before 4 pm to Troy Mills Road and Central City Road for a two-vehicle accident.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says a pickup driven by 22-year old Gage Sharp of Monticello was traveling eastbound on Central City Road and was following another pickup too closely when he rear-ended the other pickup. 

Gage was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with what was believed to be minor injuries. The other pickup driver, 44-year old Michael Hogan of Strawberry Point, was evaluated by the Alburnett Fire Department, but refused medical treatment.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage in the collision. Gage was cited for following too closely.
