KMCH SPORTS: Results from Monday 7/6

The postseason for high school softball began last night. In the KMCH Sports coverage area, East Buchanan lost to Easton Valley 6-5. Our coverage area game of the night cam from Delhi as Maquoketa Valley blanked Postville 11-0 in 4 innings via the 10-run rule. Kallie Freiburger threw a perfect game striking out 6 batters. The Wildcats improve to 17-18 and advance to the 2nd round to face Beckman Catholic in Dyersville on Wednesday night.

In 1A and 2A District Baseball make-up games from Friday night-

Mid-Prairie beat Monticello 11-1 in 4 innings.

Maquoketa Valley crushed Clinton Prince of Peace 23-2. The Wildcats move on to face Lisbon at home tonight. The Lions thumped North Cedar 20-1 last night.

All the coverage from Delhi with Bill Logan starting around 7pm after our first game from Cascade on the air. Also in 1A, East Buchanan welcomes in Midland, North Linn has Calamus – Wheatland at home, Starmont hosts Clayton Ridge all at 7pm.

Anamosa plays Union Community at 5:30pm. Sports Director Jon Swisher and Anamosa AD Troy Smock will have the call beginning at 5:20pm. The 2nd game from Cascade will be the Cougars hosting Tipton around 7:30pm, that can be heard on kmch.com. 

At 7pm, Beckman Catholic will be home to Oelwein to Dyersville.
