KMCH SPORTS: Results from Saturday night 7/11

Saturday night saw five coverage area teams advance in Softball and Baseball, with their next round of play coming up on Tuesday night:

In Softball-

West Delaware beat Alburnett 11-3 in 5 innings. The Hawks move on to a Regional Final at Davenport Assumption.

Western Dubuque shutout Independence 5-0. The Bobcats will host Marion in a Class 4A regional Final.

In Baseball-

North Linn topped Maquoketa Valley 8-1, The Lynx will face Janesville  in Independence.

Cascade roughed up Anamosa 14-4 in 5 innings, The Cougars will take on Denver in Manchester.

And Beckman Catholic avoided an upset by erasing a 6-1 deficit, coming back to beat Waterloo Columbus Catholic 10-7. The Blazers will be in Marshalltown playing PCM-Monroe.

Starmont had their fine season ended by South Winn in Calmar, 3-2.

East Buchanan fell at home to Janesville 5-2

Tonight, softball Class 1A/2A Regional Finals and 3A/4A baseball substate semifinals take place with 7pm first pitches.

Our featured games will come from near Troy Mills and Farley-

In Softball, Ed-Co is at North Linn for a 1A regional final between the 15th-ranked Vikings and #6 Lynx, Bill Logan will have all the coverage starting at 6:50pm on MIX 94.7/kmch.com/KMC App.

Beckman Catholic will be at Durant for a 2A regional final.

In Baseball, Western Dubuque welcomes in Mount Vernon, Sports Director Jon Swisher and Gary Dolphin will have that call on kmch.com and the KMCH Sports2 App around 6:50pm.

Independence will be home to Grinnell.
