Flags to Continue Flying Half-Staff to Honor U.S. Senator Graham

Governor Kim Reynolds has ordered flags in Iowa continue to be flown at half-staff until Saturday night to honor U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.
Graham died this past Saturday at the age of 71.
Graham served in Congress for more than three decades – first in the House from 1995-2003, then in the Senate. He also served for 33 years in the U.S. Air Force, achieved the rank of colonel, and received a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service as a senior legal adviser in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Sen. Lindsey Graham’s decades-long service in Washington D.C. is legendary, and he will be greatly missed. I’ll remember him fondly for his big personality and southern charm, but most importantly for his unwavering patriotic spirit,” said Governor Kim Reynolds. “My prayers are with his family and friends.”
Flags on the State Capitol Building, flag displays in the Capitol Complex and on all public buildings, grounds and facilities statewide are currently at half-staff until sunset on Friday in honor of U.S. Air Force Maj. Brad Hovey, who died during a B-52 flight test mission on June 15th.
Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
