KMCH SPORTS: Results from Monday 7/13

SOFTBALL-

The Ed-Co Vikings qualified for the state tournament for the 5th time in program history with a nail biting 3-2 win over North Linn last night. The Vikings received the 8th seed and will take on number one Exira-EHK/Audubon next Monday up in Fort Dodge at Noon.

Beckman Catholic was denied of getting their 2nd tourney berth as they fell to Durant 10-7.

Tonight, in 3A, the West Delaware Hawks travel to Davenport to face Assumption in a Class 3A Regional Final. The Hawks are looking for their 16th trip to state and first since 2020. All the coverage from KMCH Sports on-air with Bill Logan starting at 6:50pm.

In 4A, Western Dubuque looks to get back to Fort Dodge for the 6th time and 4th time in a row as the Bobcats host Marion in Farley.

BASEBALL-

In the 3A substate 3 semifinal play last night, Western Dubuque cruised past Mount Vernon 11-1 in Farley in 5 innings in a game that lasted 1 hour and 32 minutes. The Bobcats move on to welcome in Independence Wednesday night. The Mustangs dropped Grinnell 12-2 in 5 innings.

Tonight, three coverage area teams have a chance of earning a trip to state.

In 2A, Cascade meets Denver in Manchester. We’ll have coverage on the KMCH Sports Video Stream at kmch.com around 6:50pm with Sports Director Jon Swisher and Kegan Arduser. Beckman Catholic will be in Marshalltown to face PCM-Monroe. And in 1A, North Linn battles Janesville at Independence.
