The Delaware County Fair officially kicked off with the annual fair parade on Monday night. This year’s Grand Marshals were Steve and Sherri Vorwald of Manchester.
Steve and Sherri have given back to the Delaware County Fair for years.
What does Steve love most about the Delaware County Fair?
The Delaware County Fair is beloved by many, including this year’s fair royalty.
That’s Delaware County Fair Queen Holly Gudenkauf and Fair Princess Ashley Kruse. The pair was crowned at the end of last year’s fair, so they’re looking forward to reigning this week before a new queen and princess are crowned from the field of two candidates at Friday night’s concert.
It’ll be a hot week for the Delaware County Fair – with highs in the 90’s each day – and it was a toasty night for the parade. But that didn’t stop people from joining the parade line-up or watching along the route. The Manchester Legion Riders were among those participating, proudly paying tribute to our nation’s 250th anniversary.
That’s Legion Riders Chairman Tim Mastin, who says there’s always one favorite event he looks forward to each year at the fair.
The Delaware County Fair runs through Sunday in Manchester.
