Manchester City Council Meeting Recap

The Manchester City Council met Monday night to discuss several items on the agenda.

One of the items was an Iowa Economic Development Authority Iowa Downtown Resource Center Community Catalyst & Remediation Grant Program Agreement with 116 South Franklin Street. The downtown property, which sits across the street from the Whitewater Park, used to be home to the Franklin Street Brewery – but as we told you earlier this year on KMCH, it will soon be home to Big Mike’s Steakhouse.

City Manager Brock Waters:

The Council approved that agreement.

In addition to building projects, there are trail and street projects going on in Manchester. Crews are working on the Grand Avenue Trail Project, with plans to pave the first stretch on Thursday. On the Anderson Street Project, they’ll begin paving today.

Of course, he’s talking about RAGBRAI’s visit to Manchester last Friday. Waters says he received many good comments from both the riders and RAGBRAI itself.
