KMCH was asked to participate in U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley’s weekly Capitol Hill Report on Wednesday – one of two media outlets in the state allowed time to ask the Senator a few questions.
Grassley was asked about Iran’s attempted overnight missile attack on U.S. forces in the Middle East.
Senator Grassley is among lawmakers continuing to push for reform to Social Security. During Wednesday’s interview, Grassley was asked why Congress hasn’t taken action earlier.
Senator Grassley also shared what he’s currently working on in the Senate.
And Senator Grassley gave his thoughts on the loss of fellow Republican U.S. Senator Lindsay Graham after his funeral services on Tuesday.
Senator Grassley also cancelled today’s scheduled Judiciary Committee meeting to vote on President Trump’s nominee for attorney general. A Grassley spokesperson says two other Republicans on the committee wanted written assurances from the Justice Department about Trump’s IRS settlement before they’ll support having acting Attorney General Todd Blanche serve in the role permanently.
