Worthington Hosting ‘Benefit the Vets’ Concert on Saturday

The annual “Benefit the Vets” concert is going on this Saturday in Worthington.

It’s a night of music while also honoring those who have served. 

This year’s concert will feature two country music legends – Tracy Lawrence and Aaron Tippin. The event gets underway at 3 pm at Worthington Memorial Park. Cory Waller and The Wicked Things will kick things off at 4 pm, with Aaron Tippin taking the stage at 6 pm and Tracy Lawrence at 8 pm. 

Tickets are still available through the Benefit the Vets website at BenefittheVets.org or their Facebook event page. 

Benefit the Vets will also honor the legacy of two of Iowa’s fallen soldiers, Major Jeffrey O’Brien of Waukee and Sergeant Declan Coady of West Des Moines. Both soldiers were killed in Kuwait on March 1st. Plaques will be presented to their families between the shows of Aaron Tippin and Tracy Lawrence on Saturday night. 

All the proceeds from Saturday’s event will benefit local veterans and support organizations. Benefit the Vets has donated over $150,000 since its creation in 2018.
