The Manchester City Council met on Monday night.
The City Council has decided to move forward with appointing someone to their vacant council seat. The seat was left vacant after Bryan Gray resigned at the last meeting on July 27th.
City Manager Brock Waters says Manchester residents are welcome to apply for the seat if they’re interested. It’s an At-Large seat, so anyone of age in the city limits is eligible.
The Council also held public hearings regarding developments in Manchester.
Work has also progressed on the Grand Avenue trail on the north end of town.
Waters says the Manchester Fire Department is also finalizing plans for the State Fire Convention, which Manchester is hosting the week after Labor Day in September.
And two Manchester police officers were honored at Monday’s city council meeting. Chief Ben Davis presented AED Awards to Officer Peyton Clark and Sergeant David Trumblee. They each successfully used an AED to save a life in separate incidents this past month.
