NICC Manchester Center Celebrates New Location

The NICC Manchester Center celebrated its new location with a ribbon cutting and open house on Wednesday evening.

For the past decade and a half, the NICC Manchester Center has operated out of the Dupaco Community Credit Union facility along West Main Street in Mancheseter. The new location at 408 East Clara Avenue is centrally located near the West Delaware High School’s campus, making it easier for students to access classes and training. This move marks the beginning of a new chapter in community-focused education, made possible through a strategic partnership with NICC, the West Delaware County Community School District and the City of Manchester.

This investment in physical space will provide students with increased access to in-person instruction and specialized programming. The cornerstone of this new facility is the launch of the Healthcare Academy, a program specifically designed to address critical workforce gaps in the local healthcare industry. The Academy will allow high school students to explore various healthcare careers while simultaneously completing prerequisite requirements for postsecondary programs. To support this hands-on learning, the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) lab is being expanded with additional beds and state-of-the-art equipment to simulate a professional medical environment.

Beyond student instruction, the new NICC Manchester Center will serve as a hub for the greater Manchester area. The facility features:

● Expanded classroom space: Larger areas for adult learners and continuing education.
● Public meeting room: A new community room with a capacity of up to 40 people, fully equipped with Zoom capabilities for conferences, professional trainings and public meetings.
