GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY-
In Mount Vernon, West Delaware placed 5th out of 7 teams, the Hawks scored 127 points. Mid-Prairie took first with 36. Individually, junior Jeanne Bardgett led the way for the Hawks finishing 14th with a 22:12.2, 16th was freshman Aurora Milroy at 22:29.7 as she was the 2nd fresh/soph runner to finish, senior Brynn Kartman 23rd with a 23:12.3 and sophomore Berkley Lynch was 37th running a 24:44.4.
In Edgewood at the Woods Edge Golf Course, Waukon claimed the top slot out of 9 teams with 53 points, Maquoketa Valley was 3rd with 82, Starmont/West Central 5th with 141, Ed-Co with 154 was 6th, Beckman Catholic 8th with 198. Starmont/West Central senior Lauren Krogmann was 1st with a 19:14.5, 2nd was Ed-Co sophomore Josie Diers at 20;04.3. Maquoketa Valley took the 4th, 9th and 10th spots respectively with 8th grader Josalyn Burlage, Freshman Quinn Burbridge and 8th grader Taylor Burlage.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY-
In Mount Vernon, the host Mustangs won it with only 18 points. West Delaware was 5th of 6 teams with 119. For the Hawks senior Brenden White was 22nd with a 19:11.5, sophomore Nolan Hemann 23rd with a 19:17.7, senior Jarrett Engel was 25th with a 19:21.1 and sophomore Brett Uribe 28 at 19:35.5.
In Edgewood, 11 teams placed. First was Waterloo United with 43 points. Starmont/West Central with 98 was 3rd, Beckman Catholic 6th with 138, Ed-Co 9th with 233 and Maquoketa Valley 10th with 255. Blazers senior Steffen Goerdt was 5th with a 17:35.1. Starmont/West Central had three in the top ten respectively with senior Jagger Timmerman, freshman Griffin West and junior Ben Gelner finishing 6th-8th.
VOLLEYBALL-
Western Dubuque opened up MVC play at Cedar Falls in a top-15 match-up as the Bobcats outlasted the Tigers, winning 3-2.
