Velocity Festival Returning to Field of Dreams in Dyersville
Carrie Underwood, Shinedown and Creed Headlining Labor Day Weekend Concerts

This Labor Day weekend will be filled with star-studded concerts at the Field of Dreams Movie Site in Dyersville.
The Velocity Festival is returning to the Field of Dreams Movie Site – expanded to three nights after a successful inaugural year last year. Country superstar Carrie Underwood will headline on Saturday night. The weekend also includes two rock acts, with Shinedown headlining on Friday night and Creed on Sunday night.
Dyersville Chamber Director Karla Thompson says they’re thrilled to help out with the festival again this year after what’s already been a busy summer for Dyersville – hosting RAGBRAI as an overnight town in July and hosting the return of Major League Baseball at the Field of Dreams’ new professional ballpark in August.
Along with Carrie Underwood, Shinedown and Creed, there will be numerous other performers throughout the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Collective Soul and Skillet.

She says if you don’t have tickets yet, you can still get them.
And for parking, there are a couple options.
John Sutter with Travel Dubuque recommends concert-goers prepare for the hot weather, wear loose-fitting clothing and don’t forget the sunscreen. He also asks everyone to plan for the traffic and be patient.
Last year’s Velocity Festival featuring headliners Tim McGraw and Nickelback drew more than 35,000 fans to Dyersville for the very first major multi-day music festival ever held on the Field of Dreams site – it generated more than eleven million dollars in economic impact for the region.
