Update from U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley

Discuss High Diesel Prices, Farm Bill Progress, Media Outlets Ban & Identity Theft Legislation

U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says high diesel prices are “killing farmers’ income”.

Grassley is calling on President Trump to embargo diesel fuel exports to help bring down soaring prices. KMCH News Director Janelle Tucker had an opportunity to interview Senator Grassley during his weekly Capitol Hill Report with Iowa reporters on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Grassley is pleased to see that the Farm Bill has made some progress – advancing to the Senate floor after passing the Senate Ag Committee last week.

In addition to high diesel prices and the Farm Bill, Senator Grassley was also asked about Trump’s decision on Friday to ban three news media outlets from the White House.

And the U.S. Senate has unanimously passed Grassley’s bipartisan legislation that supports victims of identity theft whose Social Security numbers have been stolen. The bill is now headed to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law.

Senator Grassley celebrated his 93rd birthday last Thursday.
