The Manchester American Legion has a new member.
93-year old Charlotte Leslein joined the Legion for the first time this year. Charlotte served our country as a nurse during World War Two.
Charlotte says she took care of soldiers who had been injured overseas.
Charlotte has even kept in touch with one of the soldiers’ families all these years. And decades after her service, she’s still passionate about her country and what the U.S. flag stands for.
Now, Charlotte is able to share that passion while connecting with fellow veterans at the Manchester Legion. She became a member after stopping by the Legion’s “Hump Day Coffee Club”, which is held every Wednesday morning.
You can stop in and visit with Charlotte and some of our other local veteran heroes on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 am during “Hump Day Coffee Club”. Anyone – whether you’re a veteran or not – is welcome to enjoy some coffee, breakfast pastries and good company for a free will offering.
