Veteran’s Day is tomorrow and several observations will be held around the area today. The Manchester American Legion Post 45 will host Veterans Day ceremonies at Hanson Auditorium beginning at 8:05 am. The second ceremony will be at the West Delaware Middle School gymnasium starting at 10:00 am. There will be a light lunch served at the Legion afterwards, with the third ceremony beginning at 12:30 pm at St. Mary School.
The Earlville Legion Post #436 will hold a Veterans Day service at 10:30 am in the Earlville Community Center. Legion members are asked to be at the center by 10 am. All veterans and their families (including families of deceased veterans) are invited to stay for a chili lunch afterwards. The Earlville Legion will also hold a Veterans Day service at the Ellen Kennedy Center in Dyersville at 1:30 pm this afternoon.
Ryan Legion Post 692 will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at 5:15 pm this afternoon at the Ryan Memorial, followed by a soup and sandwich supper from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Legion. Free will donation will be offered. All are welcome.
The Northeast Iowa Vietnam Veterans Association is hosting the Clayton County All Veterans Day Celebration tomorrow in Strawberry Point. Parade begins at 11 am, with speaker, program and lunch to follow at the Strawberry Point Civic Center. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded for best parade float.
