Bicyclist Injured in Linn County Collision

One person was injured when a car hit a bicyclist in Linn County Friday morning.

 

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year old Louie Ervin II of Robins was struck while bicycling on Alburnett Road just south of County Home Road a little before 6 am.

 

A northbound car failed to see Ervin and another bicyclist and struck Ervin’s bike.

 

Ervin was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for what authorities believed were non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car, 28-year old Nicholas Lowe of Marion, was not hurt.

 

Lowe was charged with following too close.

 

The incident remains under investigation.
