Winners from Bill Riley Talent Search Show in Manchester

The Bill Riley Talent Search was held at Hanson Auditorium in Manchester on Sunday. West Delaware Friends of Music, the Hanson Foundation and KMCH sponsored the contest, which was a qualifying event for the state competition. 9-year old Keetlyn Townsely and 11-year old Kyndal Townsely of Burlington won first place in the Sprouts Division for the jazz and acrobat act, beating out eight other acts. 12-year old Allie Jensen of Waverly placed second with a vocal solo, and 10-year olds Morgan Schroeder and Kathryn Stephens of Burlington won third place for their jazz and acrobat act. 15-year old Aria Jensen of Waverly won first place in the Senior Division with a vocal solo, 17-year old Britta Fults of Rowley placed second with her vocal solo and 14-year old Mariah Seeley of Manchester won third place with a vocal solo as well. Competitors can only advance to the state competition once, and since Sunday’s top winners had already been to state, a couple others now have a chance to make their first appearance. The second place winner in the Sprouts Division, Allie Jensen of Waverly, will advance on to state. And Mariah Seeley of Manchester, who won third place in the Senior Division, will move on to the state competition as well. The Bill Riley Talent Search’s state competition will take place in August at the Iowa State Fair.
