HS Baseball/Softball; Results from Monday 6-23

In high school baseball, the Beckman Blazers stayed in first place in the WaMaC East division with a doubleheader sweep of West Delaware last night at Exide Field in Manchester. The class 3A 3rd-ranked Hawks 15-game winning streak was snapped as their record fell to 17-4. The 2A # 1 Blazers improved to 15-7 with an 8-5 win in game 1 before holding on for the 6-5 W in the 2nd game, as the Hawks scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th. The wins keep Beckman with 1 East side conference loss while the Hawks have four now putting them in 3rd place behind Maquoketa.

Class 4A 11th-ranked West Delaware extended their win streak to 8 games with a dh sweep of Beckman at Sill Field. The Hawks took game 1 11-1 in 6 innings then won 8-1 in the nightcap, improving their record to 24-5.
