A Palo teen was arrested after carjacking a vehicle and leading authorities on a high-speed chase early Tuesday. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year old Nicholas Scott assaulted a driver at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids shortly after 1 am and stole her vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle was spotted northbound on I-380 north of Center Point. When a Linn County deputy tried stopping the vehicle, Scott sped up, reaching speeds up to 110 miles per hour. The chase ended after deputies used stopsticks. Scott has been charged with Second Degree Robbery, Felony Eluding and several minor traffic citations. The incident remains under investigation.
