It’s official… A local farmer and fellow Iowan has been named “The Bachelor”. ABC announced Tuesday morning on “Good Morning America” that 32-year old Chris Soules of Arlington will be the next star of hit romance reality TV show “The Bachelor”. Chris, who grew up on a farm near Lamont and attended Iowa State, appeared this summer on “The Bachelorette” as one of twenty-five guys vying for the heart of Andi Dorfman of Atlanta, Georgia. Chris made it to the final three – with Andi and the film crew even coming to Arlington to film at his farm – but Chris was eventually rejectd by Andi and sent home. “The Bachelor” website says his appearance on the show has led to a huge fan base, with one admirer driving hundreds of miles to knock on his door and another fan professing her love for him by placing an ad in the local paper. Chris will have his chance to find love among twenty-five women when “The Bachelor” films around the world this fall. The TV series will air in January.
