HS Volleyball; West Delaware Starts Conference Play Tonight

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The class 4A 2nd-ranked West Delaware volleyball begins WaMaC east division play tonight hosting Maquoketa in their home opener. The Hawks are 5-0 on the season after winning all 10 sets they played last Saturday at the Indee invite. Nineteenth-year head coach Brett Mather says this years’ three seniors are settling into their leadership roles taking over the reins from Paige Soppe and Maddie Coates who helped lead the 37-6 state qualifying team last season:

MATHER2 9-4

Coach Mather says no matter how well they do the name of the game this early in the season is improving each and every time on the court:

MATHER1 9-4

The Hawks won the WaMaC east title last year while the Cardinals finished in 6th place and are off to a 2-1 start this season. All the action from Seedorff Gymnasium inside West Delaware high school can be heard tonight from KMCH Sports with Sports Director Jon Swisher and Joan Salow live on KMCH and KMCH.com starting around 7:30pm.
