Meth Lab Remnants Discovered at Bi-County Disposal

Authorities were called to Bi-County Disposal in Dyersville Monday morning after an employee discovered a suspicious item. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says the employee found a backpack while sorting material to be recycled. He opened the backpack and found meth lab components, including chemicals that were outgassing. The Dyersville Fire Department and Iowa State Patrol were also called to the scene. A meth lab decontamination company removed the items from the scene. Officials believe the backpack was picked up in Dubuque or Peosta by one of Bi-County Disposal’s trucks.
