Shooting at Jackson County Courthouse

police-lightsA shooting at the Jackson County Courthouse in eastern Iowa Tuesday morning has left a County Supervisor injured and the shooter dead. According to the Associated Press, a man armed with gun fired during a county meeting. He was killed after being tackled by a supervisor. The Telegraph Herald reports Jackson County Supervisor Larry “Buck” Koos was taken to Jackson County Regional Health Center. A hospital spokesman says Koos suffered a minor injury while scrambling to get away from the shooter. No other details have been immediately released.
