HS Volleyball; WD Hawks earn Win # 600 for Coach Mather

By Jon Swisher-Sports Director:

The class 4A 2nd-ranked West Delaware volleyball team improved their match record to 22-0 with a 3-0 sweep on the road over Anamosa last night in WaMaC east division play. Despite playing without kill leader, junior Kristen Wegmann who was out with a minor leg injury, the Hawks cruised to the victory beating the Lady Raiders; 25-12, 25-3 and 25-8. With the win 19th-year head coach Brett Mather picked up his 600th victory as the head varsity coach at West Delaware. Coach Mather doesn’t worry about milestone numbers like this but he certainly doesn’t take being a part of the WD volleyball program for granted:

MATHER1 9-24

Mather’s record now sits at 600-136 while at West Delaware, the Hawks return to action at the Monticello invite on Saturday starting at 9am.
