Worthington native and Beckman 2008 graduate Matt Tobin is scheduled to make his first NFL regular season start this coming Sunday when his Philadelphia Eagles take on the 49ers in San Francisco. According to bleedinggreennation.com; Tobin, who returned to practice last week but did not suit up for the Eagles game last Sunday, appears to be back at full health after suffering an ankle injury in a preseason game in late August and is listed on the depth chart as starting left guard. Philadelphia’s media feels the new starting offensive line is less than ideal but Tobin returning should be a positive boost as he looked very good in the preseason and could be a future starter on the team. A three-year letterman at Iowa and 2013 graduate, Tobin signed with the Eagles as a rookie free agent during the 2013 offseason. Tobin is in his 2nd season with the Eagles and made his debut in the December 29th game at Dallas last year.
