West Delaware Celebrates Homecoming Week

West Delaware brings its Homecoming celebration to the streets of Manchester today.

The Hawks have been celebrating with festivities all week long – and today, after a week of dress-up days, the student body will be decked out in their school colors.

Senior Maggie Millenkamp says students participated in Homecoming Olympics early Friday afternoon.

Today’s West Delaware Homecoming Parade starts at 2 pm, taking its usual route through town. This year’s Grand Marshal is Scott Litterer.

Tonight, the Hawks take on the Maquoketa Cardinals at Brown Field. The freshman football game starts at 5 pm, with the varsity game at 7:30 pm. As always, we’ll have the varsity game for you on KMCH, along with video coverage on kmch.com.

Homecoming royalty will be introduced tonight between the games around 6:30 pm. West Delaware will welcome back their 1998 Homecoming King and Queen, Max Boren and Casey Corcoran O’Roake, along with last year’s Homecoming royalty Will Ward and Alivia Schulte.

And this year’s Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at that time as well. This year’s West Delaware Homecoming Court includes Noelle Bardgett, Ava Bockenstedt, Maylin Coates, Taylor Domeyer, Ethan Grawe, Audrey Jolley, Stephanie La Rosa, Maggie Millenkamp, Conrad Smith and Jack Smith (pictured above).

A couple of court members, Audrey Jolley and Stephanie LaRosa, share their favorite parts about Homecoming week.

This year’s West Delaware Honor Court, chosen by the West Delaware staff, includes Garrison Gillihan, Keevan Hauschild, Kate Loecke, Abigail O’Rear, Gabe Quint, Liz Sleper, Luca Smith, Ava Timmerman, Erin Wegmann and Madelynn Zehr (picture below).

West Delaware’s Homecoming week will wrap up with the dance on Saturday night at Old 20 Auctions.
