HS Volleyball: West Delaware Heads to Solon for East Division Lead

The class 4A 2nd-ranked West Delaware Volleyball team will take on its’ toughest challenge tonight with a road trip to Solon to take on the 3A top-ranked Spartans. The Hawks are 29-0 which sits as the second-best start in program history behind the 2006 team that was 49-0 before falling in the 3A title game.  Solon is 19-4 and coached by former West Delaware teacher and assistant volleyball coach Peter Gustin. Hawks head coach Brett Mather in his post match interview on KMCH Tuesday night talked about the mindset his team had after the Beckman win, preparing for tonight:

Both teams are 5-0 in WaMaC East division play and tied for first place. Last years’ teams split their matches with the Hawks winning the regular season contest 3-1 in Manchester to win the division. The Spartans got even with a 2-0 win in the finals of the conference tournament.
