Autopsy Reveals Dyersville Infant Was Stillborn; No Charges Will Be Filed

An autopsy has confirmed that a baby found dead in a Dyersville home last week was stillborn.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says that the death of the infant on October 3rd raised suspicion because the mother delayed reporting it to authorities.  According to the Sheriff’s Office, the delay in reporting the death does not violate any laws and they do not expect to file any charges in the case.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Thursday that an autopsy indicated the baby was stillborn and no foul play was involved.
