The Iowa Army National Guard made a visit to Manchester Thursday. The Guard’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, in partnership with the Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce and Delaware County Economic Development, hosted a Center of Influence Event for business executives and leaders during the lunch hour at the Manchester Regional Airport. The event gave community leaders the chance to learn more about the Guard’s mission as a state emergency asset and federal missions. The Guard had hoped to provide some flights in their Army National Guard helicopter, but Thursday’s windy weather cancelled those plans. District 8 ESGR Chairman presented awards to Donna Boss (DCED), Jack Klaus (Man. Area Chamber of Comm.) and Pat Schmitz (owner of the airport hanger) to recognize all of the work the 3 of them did to make the day successful. About 20 representatives from local industries and businesses attended.
